Salmon Arm Wedding
The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. Parris and Darren found each other while working as addiction workers and channeled their selfless dedication to helping others by opening the Foothills Centre for Change.
Their unique union brought together a blended family; eight hearts, into one love. Family is not defined by genetics, it is built and maintained through love, and as Parris and Darren united their spirits under a triple rainbow on July 6th in the Shuswap, they strengthened their familial bond with their kids, who stood next to them as their wedding party.
The couple brought me to a horse sanctuary where they bring some of their clients during rehabilitation. A universal symbol of freedom without restraint, I thought it fitting that this couple which helps people move through and passed their struggles incorporate horses into their work. And just as horses group together to protect themselves from oncoming storms, Parris, Darren and their family came together to find strength in numbers.
